Grief Counseling

Losing a beloved family pet is never easy. Grieving over their loss is normal. Often times, people feel guilty for having chosen to put their companion to sleep, but we must understand that we have done everything in our power to give them the best, healthiest, happiest life they could ever have had.

Preparing for a time like this is never easy, but going through the normal grieving process for a pet is normal and healthy. Grief takes over the whole body: emotionally, mentally, and physically. While many of us would prefer to grieve alone, seeking out social support may help with coping. Don’t forget to rely on friends and family to push through this difficult time. No one can tell you how long you should grieve. When and how you heal is on your time. Take the time you need to mourn the loss of your pet. If you’re feeling isolated, reach out for help, talk with friends, try to stay active. This isn’t you forgetting your pet. This is you healing.
